• Howdy!

Another year has come and gone and here we are getting ready to get started again.  On behalf of the faculty and staff of Shields Valley Schools, we are all excited to begin this new school year’s adventure.  Welcome back!  School starts at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15th for both campuses.

Our maintenance and custodial staff have been working hard all summer to get things looking and working well for the new school year.  Both campuses were spruced up with new paint.  The sprinkler systems were all overhauled.  You might notice the grass is a little greener this year.  All of the classrooms have shiny floors, and we are ready to go.

We are working hard to build our school website into a one-stop-shop for all your information needs.  You can find the school calendar, school supply list, sports schedules, paperwork, contact information, and so on.  As this is a work in progress, we will continue to grow the website as a resource for one and all.

We continue to ask parents to help us keep the school healthy and running smoothly.  If your child is sick and exhibiting any flu-like or COVID symptoms please, please keep them home until they are symptom-free.  Even when you know COVID is not the culprit, keeping sick kids home helps the rest of us stay healthy. We will send children home when they have symptoms.

We are one of the fortunate schools in the state to have been able to fill all our teaching positions this year with fantastic and talented teachers.  Make welcome Kimberly McLees elementary SPED, Shannon Bilbao K-12 Art, Zach Sutton K-12 PE, Mandy Johnstone K-12 Library, and Rich Fisher JH/HS Science.  Also, welcome Julie Ward, our new head elementary cook.  Check out the bios in this newsletter and on our website.

Our children learn best when we can partner with our parents.  Please stay active in your child’s education.  Make time each evening to help your child with their lessons or talk to them about their day.  You are always welcome to contact us at the school if you have any questions or concerns.  The phone number for the Elementary is 406-578-2535 and for the JH/HS, it is 406-686-4621.

We look forward to seeing you at the games! When you support our sports teams, clubs, and organizations, it helps students make connections to school and learning.  We are going to be very competitive at all levels this year.

     GO REBELS!
